UP Singapore at World Cities Summit 2012
The 2012 World Cities Summit attracted over 3,000 business leaders and mayors of the world’s top cities to Singapore in June 2012, to discuss how to make our urban environments more liveable.
The Citizen, The Cloud & The Smart City Exhibition
At the World Cities Summit, our focus was on open data and how to best understand, support, and effectively implement advances in creative technology from the ground up. Our exhibition called “The Citzen, The Cloud & The Smart City” featured within the Singapore Government’s “Data-Centric City for the Future” Pavilion. Even PM Lee checked out our booth at his walkabout!
Telling the UP Singapore Story
Through our Exhibition and a session at the Expo Forum called the UP Singapore Story, we shared the lessons learned from the UP Singapore experiment and announced the top ideas from our Urban Prototyping weekend. This will contribute to the global discussion on public-private initiatives using large and open data sets for innovation on pressing urban issues.
We also challenged the leaders attending World Cities Summit to bring the UP movement to their own cities.
